The Gathering Announces Monster Hunter Secret Lair Crossover

Introduction to Magic: The Gathering’s Latest Crossover

Following the highly anticipated release of its crossover with Avatar: The Last Airbender, Magic: The Gathering is gearing up for its next major collaboration, this time with Capcom’s iconic Monster Hunter franchise. The news was teased with a tagline, “Hunter Rank Required:???” on the official Secret Lair website, and all the cards in the official crossover were quietly revealed ahead of schedule.

Although no images of the cards have been shown, a press release revealed that the Secret Lair Superdrop will be available from December 1 at 9:00 AM until December 22 at 11:59 PM PST, unless it sells out beforehand. This release, which was referred to as “very odd” by IGN, has since been deleted. The crossover will be released in four separate drops titled The Hunt, The Hunters, The Monsters, and The Monsters II, each consisting of reprints for existing MTG cards.
