‘Landman’ Season 3 Is Officially in Production — What We Know

Paramount+ has confirmed that Landman is officially in production on its third season. Filming began in Fort Worth, Texas, in early October, and the series is expected to continue its exclusive run on Paramount+.

    What Paramount+ confirmed

    • Production: filming is underway in Fort Worth, Texas, as of October 1, 2026.
    • New cast: Michael Kelly (Lioness, The Penguin) joins as William Crockett, leader of the world’s largest oil-management firm.
    • Cast promotions: Colm Feore, Mustafa Speaks, Bobbi Salvor Menuez and Francesca Xuereb have all been promoted to series regulars.
    • Returning: Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, with Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter and Sam Elliott.
    • Release date: not yet announced.
    • Platform: Paramount+, exclusively.

    What season 3 is about

Landman, co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, is set in the boomtowns of West Texas. The series follows Tommy Norris, a landman who negotiates mineral rights for an oil company, and the roughnecks, wildcat billionaires and corporate players around it.

Season two, which premiered in late 2025, followed the aftermath of a major oil discovery and the personal and professional fallout for the Norris family. Season three’s plot details have not been disclosed beyond the casting announcements.

The addition of Michael Kelly as the head of a major oil-management firm suggests season three will lean into the corporate and geopolitical side of the business — the “geopolitics” of oil that the series description references.

    Why the cast promotions matter

Promoting four supporting players to series regulars is a signal that season three will expand the ensemble rather than narrow it. Colm Feore’s Nathan, Mustafa Speaks’ Theodore “Boss” Ramone, Bobbi Salvor Menuez’s Paigyn Meester and Francesca Xuereb’s Cheyenne all had significant roles in the first two seasons, and their elevation gives the writers more room to develop subplots around the Norris family.

It is also consistent with the way Sheridan’s shows operate: the ensemble grows over time, and the world of the show becomes as important as the lead character.

    When to expect it

There is no announced release date. Filming began in October 2026, and the gap between the start of production and release for a Sheridan drama is typically several months. A late 2027 release would be a reasonable expectation based on the production timeline, though nothing has been confirmed.
