Bitcoin Price Predictions for 2026: Analysts Weigh In
As the cryptocurrency market continues to evolve, experts are sharing their predictions for Bitcoin’s price in 2026. According to Bill Barhydt, CEO of crypto exchange and wallet company Abra, Bitcoin’s price may rise in 2026 due to easing monetary policy and the resulting “massive” liquidity injection into markets. Speaking to the Schwab Network, Barhydt expressed his optimism, stating that the US Federal Reserve’s potential revival of quantitative easing and interest rate cuts could boost risk assets like Bitcoin.

Barhydt believes that regulatory clarity in the US, combined with growing institutional investment and lower interest rates, will lead to “a great few years” for Bitcoin and the broader crypto market. However, not all analysts share his bullish outlook. According to data from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group, only 14.9% of investors expect an interest rate cut at the next Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting in January, down from 23% in November.

Counter Predictions: A Bear Market Ahead?
Early Bitcoin adopters and analysts, such as Michael Terpin, predict that 2026 will be another down year for Bitcoin, with the cryptocurrency potentially bottoming out at around $60,000 in the last quarter of 2026. Terpin cites the upcoming US midterm elections as a significant risk factor, stating that anything other than a GOP sweep could hinder regulatory progress.

The odds of a GOP sweep on prediction market Polymarket currently stand at 19%, with 47% of traders betting on each party controlling one chamber of Congress. Joe Doll, general counsel at non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace Magic Eden, notes that the balance of power “almost always” flips in US midterm elections.
