Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is streaming now on Netflix, with all ten episodes available. Alongside the anime’s debut, CD Projekt Red has announced the Edgerunners 2 Update — Update 2.5 — for Cyberpunk 2077, featuring content inspired by the anime plus other new items and features.
Where to watch
Both Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 are available exclusively on Netflix. The second season is a standalone story with an all-new cast of characters, directed by Kai Ikarashi with Kanno Ichigo as lead character designer.
The game update
Update 2.5 is set to release on October 22, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X, with the Nintendo Switch 2 release to follow shortly. CD Projekt Red described the update as free and said it would introduce a range of new items and features, including content inspired by the anime. More details were scheduled for a special REDstreams episode on October 21, 2026, followed by official patch notes.
Why this matters for viewers and players
For anime viewers, the draw is a new story in a familiar world rather than a continuation of the first season. For game players, the tie-in update is the reason to return to Night City in late October. Neither group needs the other product — the anime stands alone and the update is free to owners of the game.
