Why is SHIB up 35%? Shiba Inu rockets higher as S.Korean traders lead mystery rally

Shiba Inu Jumps 36% as Market Cap Surges

Having tracked the Shiba Inu token for months, I can confirm that on Sunday it jumped 36% to about $0.0000057, injecting roughly a billion dollars into its market value without any new announcement or development.

    Market Impact and Trading Volume

The token now sits near a $3.4 billion market cap, backed by almost $380 million of daily trading volume, the highest turnover seen in months. That level of activity signals heightened interest and liquidity, even though no fresh news has emerged.

South Korean Buying Fuels the Surge

Upbit’s SHIB/KRW pair accounts for about $62 million of the global volume, representing more than a tenth of all SHIB trades and showing a slight premium over dollar‑denominated exchanges. South Korean traders are known to spark rapid, high‑volatility rallies, and the price pattern—an initial push late Saturday, a flat nine‑hour pause, then a second move through the Asian morning—matches that behaviour.
