Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey debuts on digital platforms, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on November 17, 2026, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The studio announced the home release on October 13, 2026, with more than 90 minutes of exclusive special features.
The release arrives 120 days after the film’s theatrical debut, which is longer than the typical digital window. Universal says the digital version will be available months before the film reaches subscription streaming services.
How the film performed
Universal says The Odyssey has earned more than $1.7 billion at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing film in both Nolan’s filmography and Universal Pictures’ 114-year history. It passed 2015’s Jurassic World to become the studio’s biggest film of all time, with a worldwide total reported at $1.791 billion as of late October 2026.
It is now the 12th highest-grossing film ever and the third-biggest non-franchise title of all time, and it is the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. Those are Universal’s figures and widely reported box office records.
What is in the box
The physical release includes behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast and crew, covering constructing enormous sets, casting, fight choreography, effects and the score. A music video for “When I’m Home” by James Blake and Travis Scott, and the trailers, are included only on physical formats.
The cast is led by Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Samantha Morton, with Zendaya and Charlize Theron, and the score is by Ludwig Göransson.
What to know before buying
Digital arrives November 17 alongside the 4K and Blu-ray, so there is no earlier window to wait for. If you want the music video and trailers, that is a physical-format-only inclusion, which is a genuine reason to choose the disc over the download.
For context on the rest of the fall theatrical slate, our coverage of Wicker’s October 23 opening covers a limited release opening the same weekend this article was written.
What we did not do
We did not watch the film or the bonus features, and we did not verify the global gross against an independent box office database beyond the figures cited. The $1.7 billion figure is Universal’s own statement from its October 13, 2026 press release.
