Star Wars: Galactic Racer Doubles Its Multiplayer Party Size to Six

Fuse Games released Star Wars: Galactic Racer update 1.005 on October 22, 2026, across all platforms. It is a quality-of-life update rather than a bug-fix-only patch, and the biggest change is party size.

The online multiplayer party size has been increased from three players to six. Fuse Games said it moved to ship the change quickly after players asked to share the experience with more friends in online multiplayer.

What else is in the update

Keyboard layout presets were added, including support for AZERTY keys and left-handed and right-handed play. Fuse Games describes this as the first step toward addressing feedback about the lack of key re-binding support, and says full key rebinding is on the horizon in a future update.

Other changes include an increase to the credits received when joining mid-Tour in online multiplayer, from 4,000 to 6,000; transition tidy-ups for the spectator camera view in multiplayer; removal of the option to exit the game in the multiplayer menu on PC to stop accidental quits; party stability fixes; a fix for a PS5 connection issue; and a fix for an issue that caused an AMD Frame Interpolation game crash.

    Context on the game

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a racing game from Fuse Games published by Secret Mode, released October 6, 2026 on Windows. It holds a Metacritic score of 85 and an OpenCritic score of 87. The party-size increase had been signalled before launch: the game’s own FAQ said online multiplayer supported parties of up to three players and that an increase to six was planned within the first few weeks of launch.

That makes this a promised change arriving on schedule rather than a surprise addition, which is worth knowing if you bought the game partly for group play.

    What we did not do

We did not play the updated build or verify the party-size change in a live session. Patch contents are summarised from Fuse Games’ published update notes for October 22, 2026. The key-rebinding feature is described as coming in a future update and is not in this patch.
